From Soil to Oil - An Overview of Cannabis Oil Extraction Using CO2
CO2 extraction is the process of extracting the essential cannabis oil from plant matter by using supercritical CO2. Supercritical CO2 is a fluid state of carbon dioxide where it is held at or above it’s critical temperature and critical pressure. This allows the carbon dioxide to separate from the desired elements in the plant — in this case, a cannabis plant. CO2 extraction eliminates the need for harmful solvents and preserves the essence of the plant, resulting in pure, clean, concentrated cannabis oil that is free of impurities.
